CROSSING BORDERS:BRIDGING CULTURES
TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA
OCTOBER 14 - 17, 2009
Plans are being made and details being worked out. Where? In Toronto, of course. This means that it's not too early to be thinking about the 2009 National Docent Symposium! This is especially true if your organization has some exciting program, new solutions to an old problem or an innovative idea that you want to share with docents across the country. If you are interested in receiving e-mail updates about the symposium, click on the logo above, scroll about half way down the page to the "Sign up for NDS 2009 information box" and fill it in. Please don't forget to click subscribe. If you also wish to make a presentation at the symposium, click on the "Call to Presenters" tab near the top of the page. Applications must be received electronically by Septembr 26, 2008.
The National Docent Symposium, held every other year, provides opportunities for learning and fun. The symposium includes:
Lectures by renowned speakers in museum education
Informal networking among docents
Workshops and presentations by fellow docents
Special tours of local museums and other sites of interest
The Symposium is an exciting synergistic experience at which volunteers share their enthusiasm for their work with the public.
